Uruguay will face off against France in Group A in the first top match of the World Cup 2010 finals live. Both teams are considered one of the best sides in their respective continents - Uruguay from South America and France from Europe. The two countries have not played each other too often in the past, with 5 previous meetings resulting in two wins for the South Americans, one for France and another two draws shared between them. This would probably be the most important game when they have been drawn against each other now in the World Cup.
Uruguay have a majority of players playing for foreign clubs included in the squad. Many of them are some of the world's most recognised players such as Diego Forlan of Atletico Madrid, Luis Suarez of Ajax and Martin Caceres of Juventus. The team's greatest strength may lie in attack, as players like Forlan, Suarez and Edinson Cavani of Palermo have all lit up the goalscoring charts in Europe. They are amongst the top ten strikers at club level this season with Suarez proving a revelation in Dutch football and now the subject of a transfer bidding frenzy amongst the biggest clubs in Europe.
Uruguay's midfield is also made up of tenacious players with sound inventive minds and no lack of individual skills. There may only be four players who are with local clubs in the current squad, but they have all deserved to be in the company of their compatriots who have made their mark elsewhere. In fact, current coach Oscar Tabarez has been the beneficiary of one of the most talented Uruguayan teams in recent memory and it would be a surprise if they fail to make it past Group A to the next round.
France have been through a lot in the past year or two on their way to the World Cup 2010 live finals. It seemed to all culminate in their playoff qualifier where there was an uproar with Thierry Henry using his hand to guide the ball before crossing it for the winning goal against Ireland. That result sent them to South Africa but not before widespread condemnation on their cheating ways and lack of integrity. The player has since admitted his regret but deep down, both Henry and coach Robert Domenach are aware that they did everything possible to ensure the French joined the best 32 nations in football at the World Cup finals and only the result matters for them.
Domenach has taken a few risks a month ahead of the Uruguay v France live preview after naming his World Cup finals squad. There may be untested players like Mathieu Valbuena and Jimmy Briand brought along to South Africa while other established stars like Real Madrid' Karim Benzema, Arsenal Samir Nasri and Manchester City's Patrick Viera have all been dropped. The French coach has cited the reason for trying to bring some "freshness" into the team but his past forays into such methods as well as astrology have all proven to be disasters. Domenach will not need reminding that in Euro 2008 his head was on the chopping block after a humiliating early exit and a repeat of those performances would not be acceptable.
The Uruguay v France live preview will kick off on 11 June 2010 when the two teams play in the Cape Town Stadium.

The 2010 World Cup finals live opening match will be the host country South Africa up against Mexico in Group A. South Africa will create history in the match as they will be the first ever African country to host a World Cup finals. The buildup to the opener will be keenly felt not just amongst fans in the country but also across the continent as many Africans are proud to have one of their brother nations showing that they are capable of bringing the best footballing nations together and organising a great tournament. But the serious business starts now on the pitch the moment the whistle blows and South Africa will want nothing but a win against Mexico in order to keep the interest from home fans high throughout the tournament.
South Africa have many good players in their teams, most notably that of Everton's Steven Pienaar, Portsmouth's Aaron Mokoena, West Ham's Benni McCarthy and FC Twente's Bernard Parker. They are the most famous players to have played outside the country and will lead the rest of the locally based players as they hope to bring glory and World Cup wins for the Bafana Bafana. Pienaar will be the player that may be the most important for the team as he has enjoyed a great season with his club and is now considered one of the best players in the world since many European clubs are trying to sign him from Everton. Pienaar hopes to put that aside for the duration of the tournament while he tries his best to help his country to a good World Cup finals campaign.
There is much worry amongst South Africa football fans that their country may not do that well in the World Cup 2010 finals. This is due to the poor results the team has gotten in the many friendlies they have played in the last two years. It is admitted that the South Africa team has experienced a decline in standard although to justify the dip, the team is trying to rebuild and has not had much luck with managers. Their current coach Carlos Alberto Parreira only just made a return to the post after taking over from Joel Santana who had a poor time in charge due to various reasons. South Africa did do rather well under the Brazilian and many hope that the former World Cup winner can also work some magic with the Bafana Bafana.
Our South Africa v Mexico live preview will not be complete without an assessment of the Central Americans in this fixture. Mexico are a regular qualifier for the World Cup finals due to their dominance in the CONCACAF region. While they did experience some good fortune to make it this far this time, they are now focused on the future and have already started their preparations earlier compared to many other finalists. Compared to their hosts, Mexico have a squad that features more foreign based players and many of them are indeed potential future stars in the sport. Some of them include Carlos Vela of Arsenal, Javier Hernandez who just signed for Manchester United, Guillermo Franco of West Ham, Giovani dos Santos who plays for Galatasaray, Jonathan dos Santos who is part of the great Barcelona team, Rafael Marquez who also plies his trade with the Spanish champions, and Hector Moreno who is hoping to make an impression with the national team as well as AZ Alkmaar of Holland.
If disciplinarian coach Javier Aguirre can build on the good work and foundations he laid down when he took over during the World Cup qualifiers from the admittedly disastrous Sven Goran Eriksson, there can be no mistaking the fact that the current Mexico national football team can make a huge impact at the 2010 South Africa finals. Several of the players are young, talented and very hungry and these are the attributes that Aguirre has brought together to ensure the team remains united and eager for success. They have made the round of 16 in each of their last four finals appearances and hope to at least go one better this time by reaching the quarterfinals for the first time since 1986 when the World Cup was held in Mexico.
The South Africa v Mexico live preview will kick off on 11 June 2010 when the two teams open the tournament in the Soccer City Stadium of Johannesburg.

The World Cup 2010 finals will have 32 nations - the best in the world as judged via qualifiers over 2 years - coming together to compete for football's top prize - the World Cup trophy. There is a great growing sense of anticipation as it builds up to full steam leading up to the 2010 World Cup finals live that is to be held in South Africa. With the top footballing nations in the world such as England, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Argentina and more involved, the tournament is shaping up to be the most keenly waited this June and July with fans having the highest of expectations that it will be as exciting as previous finals. Many will be tuned in to the live matches streamed and shown on their TV sets and on the Internet.
The FIFA World Cup 2010 finals will be the 19th edition since it was first conceived many decades ago. Interestingly, all the nations that have gone on to win it in the past have all qualified for the South Africa finals. The most popular would definitely be Brazil, who have been grouped in the infamous Group of Death with Ivory Coast, Portugal and North Korea. The South Americans have won the World Cup on five different occasions and will once again be one of the favourites and strongest contenders for the trophy this summer. But they have a tough group to get through with Portugal boasting one of the world's best players in Cristiano Ronaldo, Ivory Coast considered the top African team at the moment with Didier Drogba leading the line and North Korea who are a mysterious team that is just about returning to the public eye.
Defending champions Italy managed to qualify for the right to defend their title and so far they appear to have the luck of the draw. After a relatively easy qualifying group where they breezed through, the Italians have now been banded together with Slovakia, Paraguay and New Zealand. The South Americans appear to be their toughest opponents in Group F and reachinig the next round should be expected. Another South American giant - Argentina - also survived a tricky playoff situation in the qualifiers to book their appearance in the 2010 World Cup finals. They are now managed by Diego Maradona, who will need to prove his coaching credentials by leading his players past a Group B that houses South Korea, Nigeria and Greece. It is a winnable group but with their inconsistent form, nothing can be expected to turn out the way they are.
France have overcome controversy in qualifying for South Africa 2010 after achieving a playoff win via a handball incident and continued their run of good fortune after being drawn to compete for a place in the knockout stages against hosts South Africa, Uruguay and Mexico. It may appear to be a rather comfortable group for the former World Cup champions, but the team managed by Robert Domenach has hardly struck fear into the hearts of the opposition recently.
England are another team that has continued to remain a favourite with the punters. Now ruled by the iron fist of Fabio Capello, the English cruised through their qualifiers and will have one eye on the next round after being grouped with Slovenia, USA and Algeria in Group C. Their arch rivals Germany may have a tougher time in Group D, with considerably strong teams in the form of Ghana, Serbia and Australia having to be conquered if the Europeans hope to go on and claim another World Cup trophy.
Spain will be one of the biggest favourites for the tournament after their incredible run since Euro 2008 where they clinched the title playing total football that proved entertaining and devastating at the same time. Their World Cup squad has a star in every position like Fernando Torres, Xavi, Iniesta, David Villa and David Silva who are all in great demand by the world's best clubs. Many expect them to get through a relatively weak group with Chile, Switzerland and Honduras providing the challenge. Can the Netherlands finally break their curse and lift the World Cup trophy for the first time in 2010? They certainly look a complete team with balance in every area but they would need to prove it first against Cameroon, Denmark and Japan in Group E.
The World Cup 2010 finals will kick off live on Jun 11 2010 in the capital of South Africa - Johannesburg. Fans can watch World Cup matches live that will be screened in every country as the event grips the imagination of the global public. One can also watch from the comfort of the home in front of the pc or laptop with live online World Cup streaming easily available everywhere.
